Technology for laying porcelain tiles
Before you start laying porcelain tiles, it is necessary to prepare the surface, it must be clean, dry and even. If there are small bumps on its surface, then you can get rid of them with glue. But if it is necessary to align the surface, then it is necessary to use special building mixtures. But do not forget that the screed will completely dry only for 28 days.
For laying porcelain tiles, ordinary glue is not suitable, because it does not absorb moisture, and therefore it is necessary to choose glue only with high adhesion (clutch with the surface) – at least 28 kg/cm2. It is also necessary to take into account the conditions, that is, where you will lay the tile, for example a bathroom (you need to purchase a moisture -resistant grout, in order to avoid coloring and so that it does not lose its color), a kitchen or a street (glue with a grout should withstand temperature changes). The glue must be poured onto the surface and leveled with a spatula, then flatten it with a gear spatula. When laying tiles, be careful, it should be evenly laid, and in relation to each other, and to the surface, for this it is necessary to use the level. Design the main line in the center and lay the tiles on the left and to the right of it so that either the middle of the tile or the joint of two neighboring ones fall on this line. Also, carefully look at the seams so that they are even, it is necessary to use special crosses, the size of which will depend on the width of the seam, which you prefer. After the tile is dry, the final work will of course be the grout of the seams (in construction stores there is a huge selection of grout color). We dilute the grout and with the help of a rubber spatula, rub on the surface of the tile, removing the excess with the same spatula and sponge. After the grout dries, porcelain tiles must be thoroughly washed with clean water.
