Restoration of wooden windows and doors
In many apartments and houses, and other non -residential premises, for example, in state institutions, windows and doors use the same wooden ones that were installed in Soviet times.
If their condition is normal, they can be slightly restored and updated so that for several more years you can use them. If there are no serious damage, flaws on the surface of wood can be well covered with a special putty on wood. Only first you need to remove all the old paint with a special gel, scraping it with a spatula.
You can also on the “naked” wood, from the surface of which the wood was removed, apply a primer to increase its properties and it was able to resist the fungus and mold. After all these manipulations, when the putty on cracks and chips dries, it will be necessary to polish it a little with a special net so that it becomes smooth.
Then you can cover everything with paint or varnish in two thin layers and return the window and door leafs to the place. By the way, if you paint and restore window sash, it is better to remove the glass first so as not to break them and not get stained. You can additionally glue the seals on the windows so that they close tightly.
