Putting the ceiling
Do -it -yourself putty with your own hands is very difficult and time -consuming work. However, if you use a high -quality tool and material, it is quite possible to master this work yourself. Do not be discouraged if you did not succeed the first time, but as they say: “Patience and work will grind everything”.
The first step is the destruction of dirt and old paint from the ceiling. Irregularities that are more than two millimeters also need to be removed with a spatula, or cut down with a perforator. To protect the ceiling from the penetration of the fungus, moisture and mold, cover it with a layer of primer. The primer is applied with a roller or brush. After that, dry putty is kneaded in water in proportions, which should be indicated on the back of the package. Do not forget to buy workwort.
After the mixture has been prepared by all irregularities, and large holes on the ceiling should be sealed with a narrow and small spatula. When the ceiling dries, you can apply the starting layer of putty. The mixture is applied with a half. The thickness of the applied layer should not exceed one centimeter. Distribute the mixture with uniform movements. As soon as the starting layer was applied to the surface of the ceiling, immediately proceed to applying the finish layer. In indoor conditions, the starting layer dries for about four – six hours. To apply the finish layer, use a wide spatula to get a fairly even surface. The mixture is applied neatly and slowly, removing the excess. After the ceiling is completely dry, polish the surface of a specially designed abrasive mesh for this. You can walk on the surface again, destroying irregularities, after the grinding was completed
