Many people know that an increased level of humidity is the cause of the formation of mold or fungus on the details of structures, which in turn cause them damage and lead to the destruction of the entire building. Therefore, knowledge about laying vapor barrier will not be superfluous at all.

Types of vapor barrier

To date, several technologies are used, with which you can protect the structure from moisture. Such types of vapor barrier coatings should be highlighted:

– grinding of the base thanks to a sand-cement solution;

– Enough vapor barrier, isolation carried out due to the gluing of the base;

– Painting vapor barrier, the protective layer is presented by the paint material.

All of the above types of isolation involve the application of the protective layer directly to the base of the structure. Its main function is to protect the insulation material from water vapor, which fall from the room.

The process of preparing the base

Under the vapor barrier of the global type, the base of the structure is prepared using the arrangement of a cement or asphalt concrete screed, and for paint insulation – a standard grout of the existing irregularities.

Before laying insulation, the surface of the structure should first process the surface. This is performed in several stages:

– thorough drying;

– cleansing of dust and dirt;

– The priming of the base.

Many people who recently came to the scope of construction often have doubts about which side it is necessary to lay vapor barrier. To understand this, you need to recall the presence of the cover on one side of the roll material. It must be glued by the side that is the opposite of the cover.

The procedure for laying vapor barrier

According to one of the most popular technologies, glow isolation from roofing material is laid on a pre -prepared surface. It is worth noting that for its stickers, the bitumen-wings are used in cold forms or a heated bitumen.

Mastic or bitumen is applied to the surface with an even layer. In the connection zone of adjacent planes, vapor barrier is started with a vessel, the thickness of which is equal to a layer of thermal insulation. Thus, the possibility of moisture in the insulation is eliminated. After gluing the insulating layer, the wage is fixed with nails and bend directly under thermal insulation.

If roller materials that do not have a cover are used as vapor barrier, then their surface is processed using roofing mastic.

In some cases, roofing material is replaced with polyethylene film. In this case, laying must be carried out as tightly as possible.

Coloring insulation

This insulation technology involves the use of such liquid coatings as:

– hot bitumen;

– Bito-worshiping mastic;

– varnish made on chloride and polyvinyl chloride.

Application of lime-bitum mastic of varying degrees of viscosity to the processed surface is carried out by a special pump with a diameter of the hose of 38 mm, a “rowing” or asphaltor-sprayer.

As a rule, varnish is applied to several layers.

Grout vapor barrier

To protect the concrete surface from moisture hit, it is necessary to grout with a solution, which includes sand and cement. Mark required concrete – M50. At the same time, all transverse and longitudinal joints of plates must be sealed with special mastics. After hardening, they are treated with a cement mortar. After which the joints are covered with BT-177 paint.
