Everyone who had to face the floor repair with their own hands is known that the installation of a new floor begins with a screed. The screed of the new sex can be made continuous from the cement-sand solution, such a screed is also called wet, both dry or national. Most often, when repairing the floors, screeds of cement or concrete solution are installed. But there are situations when a wet screed device is simply not possible, then a dry screed technology is used to repair the floor. This method of screed still does not have much distribution, but it is already possible to say with confidence that it is more beneficial economically. To that, to repair the floor with your own hands, using this method of installing the screed, it will not be so difficult. The meaning of a dry screed device is as follows. For the device of such a base, you should fill the floor slabs with a thick layer of dry backfill. For backfilling, screening can be used in the production of expanded clay, perlite sand, quartz sand or small slag. From above, this backfill is covered with leafy material, and only then laid the finishing floor. When arranging such a screed, the amount of its layers can be very different, it all depends on the materials from which it is made. Laying such a screed has many positive points. When installing such a screed, wet processes are excluded that are always associated with concrete work. Work on laying a dry screed is not so laborious and the deadline for their implementation is much less. Such a base under the final floor is made if it is necessary to reduce the load on the supporting structures, when there is very little time to repair the floors, and it is also very profitable to make such a screed in the winter, when you cannot lay a wet cement screed. We start installing a dry screed only after the old floor is removed and the ceiling overlaps are thoroughly cleaned. Then, all existing holes and cracks between the ceilings and the walls should be sealed with cement mortar. Since the dry screed is afraid of moisture, when it is arranged, it is necessary to remember the possible occurrence of emergency situations associated with a leak of water. In order to avoid such troubles, it is necessary to lay a layer of hydro-insulation under the base of the floor, which will protect dry backfill from moisture. If there are reinforced concrete floors in the floor of the floor, then it is better to use a plastic film for waterproofing, and if the floors are wooden, then you can use parchment or bitumen paper. A plastic film for moisture insulation is laid with a large overlap on each other, and at the walls they are raised to the level of a dry screed. In order for the sound insulation of your gender to be good, a small gap along the walls must be left along the entire floor perimeter. In this gap it will be necessary to put soundproofing material – mineral or glass cotton wool or other similar material. After performing these works, dry bulk material is already poured onto the film, which will be the surface for the flooring. The backfill is thoroughly leveled with a rail to the previously set using the marking level. The amount of backfill depends on how uneven surface of the floor slab. Usually a layer of backfill is from 3 to 6 centimeters. Dry screed make them moisture -resistant plywood, chipboard or asbestos sheets. Today in construction stores you can purchase special prefabricated floor elements made from two gypsum -fiber sheets glued to each other. Chipboard, plywood or other sheet materials that you will use to device a dry screed, are laid depending on their thickness in one or two layers, fastening them with special mounting glue or self -tapping screws. The formed seams between the sheets must be subsided, and then sanded. The surface of the screed is covered with a layer of bitumen waterproofing. Dry screed of your gender is ready, you can proceed to laying the final sex. The floor laid on a screed made in this way can withstand the same load as the floor on the concrete screed.
